$10 Dispute Sparks Dramatic Road Rage Through Detroit Neighborhood

A scene resembling a demolition derby unfolded near 6 Mile in Detroit.

Amateur video captured a heated road rage incident near the corner of Seymour and Grover. Police are investigating, but no arrests have been made.

It allegedly started when one of the men asked another for $10, and he refused.

The video posted Tuesday, March 24, picks up in the middle of the confrontation as the driver of a Saturn Vue apparently purposely accelerates his car head-on into a full-size conversion van. According to Fox 2, witnesses say the driver of the conversion van rammed the Vue first and it escalated from there.

The Vue driver repeatedly backed up his car and smashed into the van. One crash caused the Vue's horn to sound incessantly and the air bag deployed.

The driver of the conversion van walked around the scene and is nearly run over by the driver of the Vue.

Santana Turner was a witness and later uploaded the video. She hopes the exposure will speed up response time for Detroit Police. Turner said DPD was called as soon as they noticed the trouble and they didn't arrive until it was all over. "Somebody could have got hurt. There's so much crime and nothing is getting done. You can't rely on them (police) to respond fast enough before things escalate. Somebody could have been shot," said Turner.

Someone called for a gun from behind the camera -- but luckily for all involved, it doesn't appear. "Go get my strap ...," is heard as the altercation continues.

The video ends abruptly, but is continued in a second clip (WARNING NSFW LANGUAGE) showing massive damage to the back of the Vue. The driver of the conversion van speeds off. Residents eventually confronted the driver of the Vue, who appeared to not know what happened.
