2 People In Custody In Connection With Shooting Death Of Party Store Owner

CLINTON TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - As friends and family prepare to say farewell to a Clinton Township party store owner who was killed in a shootout during a robbery, police are preparing to bring his accused killer to Michigan.

Emil Salem was killed late Thursday when he exchanged gunfire with an attacker inside Bernie's Market store on Garfield Road. Police have two people in custody.

One of the gunman, whose name and age have not been released, was treated in a Toledo-area hospital.

An arrest was made Friday. Officials expect to work out extradition details Monday.
