McDonald's Considering Extending Breakfast Throughout The Day

By Edward Cardenas

SOUTHFIELD (CBS Detroit) - Racing to get to McDonald's by 10:30 a.m. for an Egg McMuffin may become a thing of the past if a test of all-breakfasts turn out to be successful.

McDonald's is planning on testing all-day breakfast at some locations in the San Diego area starting next month, the Associated Press reports.

The test is in response to customers who want to eat breakfast foods beyond the typical morning hours, and will include a partial menu with breakfast sandwiches and hash browns.

By offering breakfast throughout the day, the fast food giant is keeping up with changing customer habits, the story stated.

"Having those breakfast items available to sell all day would also serve as a reminder to customers (and the media. and Wall Street.) that McDonald's does indeed have craveable food to sell," Janney analyst Mark Kalinowski wrote in an analyst note for Janney Capital Markets.
