Body Found In Burned Van On Detroit's West Side: What Happened To This Woman? [VIDEO]

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit Police are trying to identify a victim after a gruesome discovery on the city's west side.

Firefighters responding to a burning van on Kendall and Westbrook streets, near I-96 and Outer Drive, discovered the body of an unidentified female around 9:30 a.m. Friday.

Investigators are trying to figure out who the woman is and how she died. Police say the van, a 2002 silver Plymouth Voyager, was last seen driving in the area of Outer Drive and Schoolcraft Road shortly before the fire.

Police have released security footage taken in the area that shows the vehicle in question. The white Ford Taurus in the video is not involved.
