Lester Tosses Glove To First Base For The Out [VIDEO]
DETROIT (97.1 THE TICKET) - Chicago Cubs pitcher Jon Lester should get a save on this out.
Clint Barmes of the San Diego Padres hit a grounder to the mound -- which Lester snagged -- and it seemed like the toss to first base would be the first out of a double play.
Lester, though, couldn't get the ball out of his mitt so he tossed his mitt with ball firmly in place to first for the out.
Heads-up play by first baseman too. Anthony Rizzo—threw down his glove— to make the barrel catch and complete the play!
