Dress Woes? Hope Closet Helping Outfit Girls For Prom

LIVONIA (CBS DETROIT) - Prom dresses can run in the hundreds of dollars -- some girls wouldn't go to prom if they didn't get a free dress from Hope Closet.

President of Hope Closet Whitney Drake says they collect gently used dresses and give them to girls in need.

"A girl comes in and gets a personal shopper and is able to pick a prom dress of her choice as well as one accessory, like shoes, purse or jewelry," she says.

If you know someone who is interested - Drake says they will have to call to make an appointment:

"We will give you directions to come to the boutique at your appointed time and you will get a personal shopper. We do ask that you do have a school ID or a Home School letter."

The boutique is held at Royal Oak United Methodist church. The event runs through Saturday and it is by appointment only.

Find more information at HopeCloset.com or call to make an appointment at (248) 347-1309.
