Warren Police Lieutenant Put On Administrative Leave After Arrest At Detroit Bar

WARREN (WWJ) -- A Warren Police Lieutenant is on paid administrative leave -- pending the outcome of an investigation -- after allegedly getting involved in a bar fight in Detroit while intoxicated.

The incident happened Wednesday night at The Well, a small bar on Randolph St., on Detroit's east side. Detroit Police arrested the Warren officer, claiming he was intoxicated and also had his service weapon with him.

Warren Mayor Jim Fouts was made aware of the incident and is now waiting for a report from Warren Police Commissioner, Jerry Green. Fouts said that there are still a lot of unanswered questions.

"The Detroit Police Department will give our police department a report," Fouts said. "Then the police commissioner will give me a report and after that we'll make a decision on whether or not there will be some sort of discipline as a result of that."

Fouts said that he hopes a final decision will be reached by sometime next week.
