CBS DETROIT - The Detroit Lions signed three tryout players following rookie minicamp, the team announced Monday.

The Lions had 31 tryout players in rookie minicamp over the weekend, and afterward they signed safety Nathan Lindsey and wide receivers Jarred Haggins and Erik Lora.

A native of Inkster, Lindsay had 41 tackles, including 5.5 tackles for loss, and three interceptions for Fort Hays State last season. He also returned four kicks for a total of 166 yards. He played two seasons at that school and previously played at Eastern Arizona College and Grand Rapids Community College.

Haggins spent five seasons at Florida State. After missing his junior year with a knee injury, Haggins had one catch for 18 yards, contributed on special teams and was a team captain.

Lora, a two-time All-America selection at Eastern Illinois, was signed by the Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted free agent last year but was cut in late August.

The Lions also announced they have released wide receiver Desmond Lawrence. There are currently 87 players on the roster.
