Police: Michigan Man Strangled Woman, 2 Kids Before Killing Self

GREENWOOD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Police say a man strangled a woman and her two children with a dog lead in a northern Michigan trailer before hanging himself with the same cable from a TV antenna at the home.

State police on Tuesday released details about Saturday's deaths in Oscoda County's Greenwood Township, about 180 miles north-northwest of Detroit.

In a statement, police say 39-year-old James Jackson Sr. killed 24-year-old Cecelia Woods, 3-year-old Keyon Jackson and 2-year-old James Jackson Jr.

Police responding to a 911 call found James Jackson Sr. hanging from his neck outside the home. He was declared dead at the scene along with the others.

Nancy McMaster told WFQX-TV James Jackson Sr. was her daughter's estranged boyfriend and the father of James Jackson Jr. She says the father of Keyon died earlier.
