Mourners Pay Respects To One Of The Teens Killed In Stony Creek Metropark Crash

STERLING HEIGHTS (WWJ) - Friends and family paid their last respects to one of the teens killed in a crash at Stony Creek Metropark last week.

A steady stream of mourners entered the visitation Wednesday for Jonathon Monolios at Wujeck Calcaterra Funeral Home in Sterling Heights.

"He was a good kid, I never had no problems with him. I had a good time with him ... He was a good kid," said his Uncle Vito Adragna. "But they all got in trouble, and that's what happened."

Through tears Madison Bankstol said how hard it was to know Jonathon was dead.

"It's really hard to just come here and see him, and not have that smile lite the room, and that's just really hard. Never be able to pay back what he did for me and make him as happy as he made everyone else," she told WWJ's Sandra McNeill.

Police say there was alcohol in the car that the teens were traveling in, but it's not yet certain that it was a factor in the crash. Police are still working to determine who was driving at the time of the accident.

Two teens remain hospitalized.
