POTUS Joins Twitter; Follows Every Pro Chicago Team Except The Cubs

I joined Twitter in August of 2009 and felt like I was ahead of the curve.

I was especially ahead of the President of the United States of America, Barack Obama, who just joined Twitter.

I guess he's had other things on his mind because POTUS just joined Twitter Monday morning.

Now, the oddest thing about it isn't just that POTUS joined Twitter -- where he's bound to immediately encounter a legion of haters -- but the list of things and people he's following is curious.

As of 1:56 p.m. Monday, Obama is following 65 accounts and has 598,000 followers.

He follows the Chicago Blackhawks, White Sox, Bears and Bulls. One team Obama isn't following is the Chicago Cubs.

Now that might change, but you can't help but feel bad for the Cubs. Not only have they failed to win a World Series since 1908, but the man who served three terms representing Chicago in the Senate before he was named the 44th President of the United States won't even follow them on Twitter!

How could he not follow an account that generates gems like this -- Kids and baseball together like Mom and apple pie.
