Keyboard Cat, Screaming Goat, Annoying Orange Provide Safety Tips In Delta Video

By Edward Cardenas

ROMULUS (CBS Detroit) - Delta Air Lines has brought together some of the Internet's top memes for its latest safety video.

Keyboard Cat, Dramatic Chipmunk and Will It Blend Guy are some of the Internet's biggest stars who join Delta personnel to bring a bit of levity while delivering a serious message.

"We had a ton of fun with this one, and we think our customers will, too. Internet fame is fleeting, but our commitment to the safety of our customers and crew is not," said Mauricio Parise, Delta's director of Worldwide Marketing Communication, in a release. "These memes and cameos tap into the zeitgeist as the latest way of capturing our customers' attention for our important safety presentation."

The Internet personalities featured in the safety video have logged nearly 2 billion views. It will be shown on Delta aircraft beginning May 25.

"Delta's meme-tastic new safety video is not only a fitting homage to YouTube as we celebrate its 10th birthday this month," said Stephanie Davis, Industry Director for Travel at Google, in a release. "It's also a winning example of how to reach, engage and entertain customers around the world with great video content."

Delta added humor to their videos nearly two years ago and have featured an 80's throwback video with break dancers and Alf, and last year created a holiday-themed video.

Delta is Detroit Metropolitan Airport's largest carrier and operates nearly 500 departures to 137 destinations from its international hub at Metro.
