Memorial Day Events Guide In Metro Detroit

DETROIT (CBS Detroit) There are so many things happening on Memorial Day weekend in Detroit that if you have to cross one thing off your agenda make it this: Relaxing at home.

From Eddie Money opening up the DTE Music Theatre for the season -- as he tends to do -- to Ice Cube at the Fox, jazz at Music Hall, the Movement Festival downtown, and everything in between, there's no excuse for boredom.

The weather promises to be warm, which is a turnaround from the deep freeze metro Detroit can't seem to shake.

The biggest event of the weekend, Movement, will have bands on five stages from Saturday to Monday at Hart Plaza in Detroit. This year brings new additions like a bike valet, a technology area to help visitors learn about the skill behind the sound, and an array of new food offerings.

Hopheads can enjoy a new Riverfront Biergarten featuring local craft brews and international options. "Highlights include Rochester Mills' Lazy Daze Amber Ale, MillKing It Productions' Axl Pale Ale, Frankenmuth Brewing's Batch 69 IPA, Blake's Flannel Mouth Hard Cider, New Belgium Fat Tire Amber Ale, Spaten Lager and Hoegaarden Witbier," organizers said in a press release.
