AutoMoto Film & Arts Festival Debuts In Detroit May 28-30

DETROIT (WWJH/AP) - A unique film and art festival is making its debut in Detroit.

The AutoMoto Film & Arts Festival takes place May 28-30 at The Fillmore Detroit, The Madison Theatre Building and Cinema Detroit.

The festival includes full- and short-length films, as well as special appearances by automotive personalities, car designers and artists. World Class Motoring, Islay Events and co-producer Mark MacInnis also are involved in presenting the festival.

"It is an event that embraces all the incredible aspects of our emotional attachment to all things Motoring," according to the event's website. "It's rich history being told through the visual, auditory and written arts, aiming its message directly at the romantic soul of the motoring enthusiast."

The inaugural event, presented by Quicken Loans and Opportunity Detroit, features an opening night gala with film screening and reception.

In addition to films, an exhibit curated by famed Detroit artist Camilo Pardo at his studio in the Bankle Building will be on display.
