CBS DETROIT - Before construction on the new MGM Grand Detroit Tunnel Club began in late March, there was an area outside the Detroit Lions locker room at Ford Field where reporters would wait before entering the locker room for interviews following games.

Now that area is gone, along with some of the locker room, swallowed up by the framing of what will be a swanky new space for about 120 people each game, some guests of MGM Grand, some who paid $9,500 for a season of membership in the exclusive club.

The club is expected to be ready for the preseason opener on Aug. 13, and CBS Detroit went to Ford Field for a look at the progress.

What used to be the steps players would walk down to the tunnel will now be bleacher-like seating for fans to watch players on their way to the field. (Photo by Ashley Dunkak)
