Reports: Former Mount Clemens High School Teacher Could Face Sex Charges

MOUNT CLEMENS (WWJ) - Reports say a 23-year-old Mount Clemens High School teacher has resigned after being confronted with allegations that she preformed a sex act with a student.

The teacher, who lives in Imlay City, had reportedly only been with the school district since the start of this school year.

Superintendent Deborah Wahlstrom told the Macomb Daily that the teacher resigned when administrators found out about the situation.

"We sent her home and asked her not to come back, and then she submitted her resignation," said Wahlstrom.

Reports indicate that at least one sexual act between the teacher and student took place in Imlay City, although it's suspected there may have been more liaisons.

Parents with children in Mount Clemens Community Schools are expected to be notified of the situation in a letter sent home with students on Thursday.

The investigation has been handed off to law enforcement to determine if any criminal charges will be leveled.
