School Community Gathers In Prayer For Students At Henry Ford High School

DETROIT (WWJ) - There were hugs, prayers and a special poem Thursday night at a candlelight vigil for three Henry Ford High school students; 14-year old Timesha Taylor, was hit and killed while crossing 8 Mile Road Tuesday night, and her friend, a 15-year old remains hospitalized from her severe injuries from the accident.

Antonio Marks read a poem he wrote remembering his longtime friend, Timesha.

"Timesha oh, Timesha rest in peace and know that you are still loved and never forgotten, Timesha, oh Timesha, we miss you so much," read Marks.

"I didn't think that my baby would be gone this soon," said Timesha's grandmother Sandra Taylor. "She was my ... doll."

Prayers were also offered for another friend of Timesha's, a 15-year old, who was raped as she walked to school.

The student said she and Timesha would normally walk to school together in the morning.

Police are still searching for her attacker - a sketch has been released.
