High Schoolers Facing Charges, Banned From Graduation Ceremony Over Vandalism
ROCHESTER HILLS (WWJ) - While most seniors at Stoney Creek High School in Rochester Hills got their diplomas -- four students wound up getting arrested on charges of vandalism.
"It doesn't look good for these four seniors -- two 17-year-old boys, and 18-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman," said WWJ Legal Analyst Charlie Langton.
The students were taken into police custody at a rehearsal for their graduation ceremony last Thursday, after authorities discovered at least $2,000 worth of vandalism to the school's entrance.
The teens are accused of using spray paint, toilet paper, eggs and other materials to damage the school -- including reams of paper that investigators were reportedly able to trace back to a local Meijer store.
The students, who have since been released from police custody, were banned attending the commencement ceremony and any other school activities.
Charges are pending review from the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office.
