Harbaugh Is 'Crazy', Practiced In Full Pads, Says Former Player

Everyone knows that Jim Harbaugh is outgoing and a little odd at times.

He runs around shirtless with high school kids, and has also used Gatorade in his cereal.

Now, one of his former players in San Francisco, Delanie Walker, has something new to proclaim about Jim Harbaugh.

He's crazy.

Harbaugh's shirtless coaching stunt didn't surprise Walker at all according to tennessean.com:

"It didn't surprise me one bit,'' Walker said, laughing. "Harbaugh doesn't surprise anyone. He does whatever he feels like doing. Truthfully, I think Harbaugh still thinks he's a player, not a coach."

Walker provided more detailed insight on why he believes Harbaugh still thinks he's a player. One time, the 49ers only had 2 healthy QBs and Harbaugh did this:

"He dressed up in full gear and practiced the whole practice – pads, helmets, everything on. He had the whole uniform on,'' Walker said of Harbaugh. "We came out and said, "Who is that dude out there? And it was Jim Harbaugh. He had some old high top cleats o. "He did pretty good. He just couldn't throw the deep, deep pass."

Harbaugh definitely has a unique coaching style, to say the least. Walker does give him credit, though, and believes he will do well in Ann Arbor:

"I think he is going to be a great (at Michigan),'' Walker said. "People buy into his philosophy. Every team he has ever been on has been good, right? So you tell me what he is going to do. Young kids love to have a coach who is crazy."
