3 Arrested, 3 At Large In Bizarre Front Yard Attack In Pontiac
PONTIAC (WWJ) - A Pontiac man claims he and his girlfriend were beaten up all because he wanted a car to slow down in his neighborhood.
Three suspects have been arrested and three more are wanted in connection with the incident just before 9 p.m. Thursday in the 1080 block of Cherrylawn.
The resident — a 34-year-old man — told Oakland County Sheriff's officials that he, his 41-year-old girlfriend and a child were in his front yard when a car drove through a stop sign. When he yelled for the driver to slow down, the man said, two women got out of the vehicle and began striking his girlfriend with poles.
The man told deputies he was able to break up that fight and the assailants sped away. But, about five minutes later, the man claims, three men walked up with bats and began beating him, accompanied by the women from before who joined in the assault.
A 33-year-old Pontiac woman, a 35-year-old Flint woman and a 27-year-old Pontiac man have been arrested in the attack.
Authorities on Friday were still searching for three additional suspect: one described as an "unknown albino male," around 25 years old, and two described only as black males.
The injured man was taken to St. Joe's hospital where he was listed stable condition with facial fractures. The female victim declined treatment. The child was not hurt.
Charges against those in custody are pending. No names were released.
