Traffic Alert: Weekend Road Work

DETROIT (WWJ) – The weekend is here again, which means construction crews are going to be out in full force -- especially on I-275, where big delays are expected.

The following road work projects have been announced by MDOT. As always, some of this work may be postponed due to weather.

I-275:

In Wayne County, south I-275 over M-14/I-96 will have one lane closed, two lanes open, from 7 a.m. Friday through July 2 for road work.

In Wayne County, north and south I-275 ramps to west M-14 will close intermittently from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. Detours are north to 7 Mile or south to Ann Arbor Road.

In Wayne County, south I-275 ramp to Ford Rd will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. The Ford road ramps to north and south I-275 will be closed.

I-96/M-14:

In Wayne County, east I-96/M-14 from Sheldon to Newburgh will have two right lanes closed, one lane open, 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for road work.

In Wayne County, west I-96/M-14 from Newburgh to I-275 will have two right lanes closed, one lane open, from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for road work.

In Wayne County, west I-96/M-14 ramp to south I-275 will close for two weeks, 9 p.m. Friday through July 2 for repair. Detour is north I-275 to 7 Mile to south I-275.

In Wayne County, west I-96 service drive on ramp at Newburgh will be closed 9 p.m. Friday to 5 p.m. Saturday Detour is Farmington Road ramp.

In Wayne County, west I-96/M-14 ramp to Sheldon Rd and Sheldon ramp to east I-96/M-14 will be closed 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

I-75:

In Oakland County, north and south I-75 at University Drive has three lanes closed nightly 10 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Saturday for construction. And again starting Monday night thru next Sunday.

In Oakland County, south I-75 from Big Beaver to 12 Mile will have nightly closures 10 p.m. Friday to 10 a.m. Sunday for maintenance.

In Oakland County, south I-75 ramp to west Big Beaver Road will close 7 a.m. Sat to 5 p.m. Sunday for maintenance.

In Oakland County, north I-75 from 8 Mile to 9 Mile will have right lane closed 5 a.m. Saturday to 5 p.m. Sunday for maintenance.

In Wayne County, north I-75 from Dearborn Street to Clark Street will have two lanes closed 7 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for maintenance.

M-10:

In Oakland County, north M-10 between Lahser Road and I-696 will have two left lanes closed from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday for maintenance.

In Wayne County, south M-10 from Meyers Rd to M-8 (Davison) will have two right lanes closed, leaving one lane open from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for road work.

M-3: (Gratiot Ave)

In Macomb County, north and south M-3 between Toefper to Stephens will have left lane closed from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday for Cruisin' Gratiot event.

In Macomb County, north and south M-3 at M-59 will have single lane closure from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for road work.

M-53: (Van Dyke)

In Macomb County, north M-53 from 15 Mile to 18 Mile will have night and weekend work closing two lanes closed, leaving one lane open, during overnights 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. and weekends through August 3.

M-59:

In Macomb County, east and west M-59 between Elizabeth Road and I-94 will have two lanes closed 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for road work.

M-97:

In Macomb County, south M-97 (Groesbeck Hwy) at M-59 will have single lane closures from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for road work.

US-24: (Telegraph)

In Oakland County, south US-24 (Telegraph) from US-24 Business Rt. (Square Lake) to Long Lake will have two lanes closed from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for construction.

Construction Continues On...

I-75:

In Wayne County, north and south I-75 under Woodward (M-1) has a lane closed for M-1 construction until June 2015.

In Wayne County, north and south I-75 ramps to Oakland Ave and M-1 (Woodward) remain closed until October 2. Detour is northbound or southbound I-75 to westbound McNichols to Oakland Ave or M-1.

M-53: (Van Dyke)

In Macomb County, north and south M-53 (Van Dyke) between 14 1/2 Mile and 18 Mile Roads has two lanes open through September during daytime. Only one lane will be open during overnights and weekends. Also, 15 Mile Rd at M-53 has construction.

I-69:

In St. Clair County, I-69 from west of M-19 to east of Taylor Road has one lane open in each direction through September 28. Also, the east I-69 exit to Taylor Road is closed through September 28 for road work.

I-94/I-69:

In St. Clair County, east I-94 from Range Road to Lapeer Road has the left lane closed through September 15.

In St. Clair County, west I-94 from Lapeer Road to Griswold has the left lane closed through September 15.

In St. Clair County, Lapeer Road closed at I-94/I-69 from 8 p.m. Monday to 6 a.m. Tuesday for night bridge work.

M-8 (Davison Fwy)/Oakland Ave:

In Wayne County, south Oakland Ave over M-8 (Davison Fwy) remains closed until October 2 for bridge work. Detour is west M-8 service drive to crossover west of M-1 (Woodward) to east M-8 service drive to south Oakland.

In Wayne County, west M-8 (Davison Fwy) ramp to Oakland Ave and M-1 (Woodward Ave) closed until October 2. Detour is west M-8 to north I-75 to west McNichols to Oakland Ave or M-1.

M-1 (Woodward):

In Wayne County, M-1 between Alexandrine and Kirby streets has multiple lane closures through October for M-1 rail. Also, M-1 between Adams and Alexandrine and Kirby and Chandler, north of Grand Boulevard.

M-85: (Fort St)

In Wayne County, M-85 (Fort St) over Rouge River is closed between Oakwood and Miller through August.
