Officials: Elderly Man Found Dead In Backyard Died Of Natural Causes
BRUCE TWP. (WWJ) - Investigators thought an elderly man found dead in the backyard of his home might have fallen victim to foul play.
But as it turns out, 88-year-old Giuseppe Angeli succumbed to natural causes.
Angeli's body was discovered by his son around 7:25 p.m. Wednesday outside of his home in the 8000 block of Pippen Drive, near 32 Mile and Campground roads in Bruce Township.
Police canvassed the neighborhood, looking for clues and speaking to neighbors. Bruno Mariani, who lives on Pippen Drive, said police were investigating the possibility that Angeli could have been shot.
An autopsy was performed Friday by the Macomb County Medical Examiner, who determined that Angeli died of natural causes. Other circumstances were not released.
Police said their investigation is now closed.
