President Obama Uses 'N' Word In Podcast Interview

DETROIT (CBS Detroit) Detroiters including disgraced former Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick helped the NAACP when it officially buried the N-word in the hopes it would no longer be in the American lexicon.

And President Barack Obama just brought it back.

Obama went on popular podcast "WTF" with Marc Maron  to address the Charleston shootings and other matters. In the course of the discussion, the president said this:

"Racism, we are not cleared of it, clearly," the president said. "And it's not just a matter of it not being polite to say 'ni****' in public. That's not the measure of whether racism still exists or not."

Daily Beast reviewed the interview and thought the president's seemingly casual drop of the dreaded word was carefully planned.

"(It) sounded more like a potential sound bite than intimate interaction," the reviewer wrote.

They wrote the entire interview seemed "scripted, contrived. Canned."
