Police: 21-year-old Pregnant Woman Found Slain At Apartment

MUSKEGON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Police say a 21-year-old pregnant woman has been found slain at an apartment complex in western Michigan and a man is in custody in the case.

The Muskegon Chronicle reports the woman's body was found Wednesday morning at Quail Meadows Apartments in Muskegon Township. Two young children were at the home and police say they're believed to have been present when she was killed.

Sanford says the woman had puncture wounds on her body, but didn't say how she was killed. A 22-year-old man described by Sanford as a "person of interest" was in custody. Sanford says the man called 911 around 5 a.m. to report finding the woman dead and police responded.

Authorities say the woman was about six months pregnant.

WOOD-TV reports the unborn child didn't survive.
