Westland Police Seek Man Caught Taking 'Up Skirt' Pic Of Woman In Ice Cream Line

DETROIT (WWJ) Westland police are asking the public to help identify a man who allegedly used his cell phone to take an "upskirt" picture of a woman in line for ice cream with her two small children.

The crime is called "eavesdropping with a computer device."

Police say it happened at about 9 p.m. Thursday, when a man standing in line at the Mickey's Dairy Twist, 32785 Cherry Hill, spotted a woman waiting in line with her young kids.

The man made his way toward the victim, placed his cell phone camera under the victim's skirt and took a picture, police said.

The man was caught in the act by the victim's brother who was also waiting in line.  The brother demanded the cell phone from the subject, but the suspect refused and he walked away from the location on foot.

The suspect is described as a white man, 40-45 years old, approx. 5 feet 8 inches tall with a thin build, brown eyes, dark framed glasses, a salt and pepper goatee and beard.

Anyone with information regarding the identity of this individual is asked to contact Detective Boucher at 734-467-7956 or the Westland Police Department at 734-722-9600.
