Man Dies After Jumping Off Ambassador Bridge
DETROIT (WWJ) -- A man is dead after jumping off of the Ambassador Bridge between the United States and Canada on Friday afternoon.
Detroit Police told WWJ Newsradio 950's Lauren Barthold that the man was driving his car on the bridge entering Canada when he got out and jumped, landing on the ground.
Coast Guard Lieutenant Commander Jillian Lamb said that the man landed underneath the bridge on the American side.
"The individual jumped from the bridge, but he landed on shore," Lamb said.
The Coast Guard, Border Patrol, as well as Detroit police and fire departments responded to the incident.
