Thousands Of Credit Cards Hacked From FireKeepers Casino Database

BATTLE CREEK (WWJ) -- If you enjoy hitting the casino in Battle Creek, you might want to double-check your credit card statement.

FireKeepers Casino announced Friday that hackers were able to access about 85,000 debit and credit cards. The numbers accessed were those used for food, beverage and retail purchases from September 2014 through April 2015.

The information leaked may include card number, cardholder name, verification code, and/or the card's expiration date. Information contained in the Red Hot Rewards Club database was not affected and remains secure.

Cards used for hotel reservations and ATM transactions were not affected and the casino has upgraded its online security. Those affected in the security breach will receive letters in the mail.

Patrons are encouraged to monitor their credit and debit card accounts, and contact their bank if they notice any suspicious activity. Potentially affected individuals will be receiving letters with information and resources and are encouraged to call 855-861-4021 with any questions.
