Detroit Tigers Claim First Baseman Marc Krauss From Rays
DETROIT (CBS Detroit) -- The Detroit Tigers have claimed the contract of Tampa Bay Rays first baseman Marc Krauss, the team announced on Monday.
Krauss will reportedly join the Tigers this week for their road series with the Seattle Mariners.
Krauss, who was designated for assignment by the Rays over the weekend, has also spent time with the Los Angeles Angels and Houston Astros in his three-year career. He has batted .192 with 11 home runs and 40 RBIs in 134 career MLB games.
The 27-year-old right-hander played 47 games for Triple-A Salt Lake in 2015, where he batted .289 with four home runs and 29 RBIs.
