Domino's Launches New Apple Watch App

By Edward Cardenas

ANN ARBOR (CBS Detroit) - Domino's Pizza launched a new app Tuesday for the Apple Watch.

The Ann Arbor-based pizza company, which has been a leader in digital ordering technology, introduced the app which allows customers to use the Domino's Tracker on the Apple Watch to track the progress of their order.

"Domino's is always looking for ways to continue leading the e-commerce industry with our customer-focused technology, and our new app for Apple Watch is no exception," said Dennis Maloney, Domino's vice president – chief digital officer, in a release. "Partnering with the world's leading technology innovator to give Domino's customers yet another way to track their order is one more way we hope to make customers' experiences even better and more convenient."

Customers can track their order from the time it is taken, to when it is placed in the oven and ready for carryout or delivery on their Apple Watch app.

According to Domino's, Apple Watch users will be able to swipe up to quickly access the Domino's Glance, which are shortcuts to the apps users view most frequently. The Domino's Glance will feature a brief status update of a customer's current order.

This is the latest technological advancement for Domino's, which offers mobile ordering through smart phones and wearables such as Pebble and Android Wear smartwatches, a virtual assistant and pizza tracking on smart televisions.
