Traffic Alert: Weekend Road Work

DETROIT (WWJ) – The weekend is here again, which means construction crews are going to be out in full force.

The following road work projects have been announced by MDOT. As always, some of this work may be postponed due to weather.

I-75:

In Wayne County, north and south I-75 between 8 Mile and M-8 (Davison) will have left lane closed from 7 p.m. Friday to 7 p.m. Sunday for road work.

In Wayne County, south I-75 from Mack to I-375/M-3 (Gratiot) will have two right lanes closed from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday for bridge work. Mack Ave. ramp to south I-75 will also close.

In Wayne County, north I-75 from Brush St. to Wilkins (within I-375/M-3) will close from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday for bridge work. Ramps to M-3 and south I-375 will remain open. Delays are expected.

In Wayne County, north I-75 ramp to north M-10 will close from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday for bridge work. Detour is north I-75 to west I-94 to north M-10. I-96 or Ambassador Bridge traffic use I-94 east to M-10.

In Wayne County, north and south I-75 between Clark and Springwells will have two lanes closed from 9 p.m. Friday 5 a.m. Monday for road work. The north I-75 ramp to Springwells and M-85 (Fort) will also close.

In Oakland County, north I-75 from 12 Mile to 13 Mile will have lane closure from 7 a.m. Saturday to 6 p.m. Sunday for maintenance.

In Oakland County, south I-75 from Big Beaver to 12 Mile will have two lanes closed nightly from 10 p.m. Friday to 10 a.m. Sunday for maintenance.

I-94:

In Wayne County, the west I-94 ramp to south I-75 will close from 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for bridge work. Detour is west I-94 to east I-96 to south I-75. Downtown traffic can use south M-10.

In Wayne County, west I-94 from 8 Mile to Cadieux will have right lane closed 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday for utility work. Also, intermittent ramp closures will occur.

In Wayne County, west I-94 from Wayne Rd. to Belleville Rd. will have two left lanes closed 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Sunday for road work.

M-10:

In Wayne County, south M-10 from Meyers Rd. to Chicago Blvd. will have two right lanes closed from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for road work. Also ramp closures on Wyoming, Meyers, McNichols, Webb Ave, Glendale and Livernois.

In Wayne County, north M-10 from US-12 (Michigan Ave) to I-75 will have right lane closed from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday for bridge work.

I-275:

In Oakland County, the south I-275 ramp to east M-5 will close from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday for maintenance.

In Wayne County, north I-275 at Plymouth Rd. will have right lane closed 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday for road repair.

In Wayne County, the south I-275 ramp to Ford Road will close from 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for road work. Ramps from Ford Road to north I-275 and from west Ford Rd. to south I-275 will also close.

I-96:

In Oakland County, the east I-96 ramp to north M-5 will be closed from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday for maintenance.

I-375:

In Wayne County, the south I-375 ramp to Madison Ave. will close 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday for bridge work.

M-3:

In Wayne County, the south M-3 ramp to south I-375 will close 6 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday for bridge work.

M-8: (Davison)

In Wayne County, the west M-8 ramp to south M-10 will close 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for road work on M-10.

M-150: (Rochester Rd)

In Oakland County, north and south M-150 between M-59 and Avon will have single lane closures nightly from 9 p.m. Friday to 9 a.m. Sunday for construction.

M-53:

In Macomb County, north and south M-53 between 23 Mile and 27 Mile will have single lane closures nightly from 7 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. July 17 for maintenance.

M-59:

In Macomb County, west M-59 ramp to M-150 (Rochester) will close 9 p.m. Friday to 9 a.m. Saturday for road work.

US-12: (Michigan Ave)

In Wayne County, east and west US-12 between Wyoming and 3rd Street will have single lane closures from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday for sign work.

In Wayne County, east US-12 from Schaefer to Oakman Blvd. will have two lanes closed from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday for utility work.

US-24:

In Oakland County, south US-24 (Telegraph) from US-24 Bus Route (Square Lake) to Long Lake will have two lanes closed, one lane open, from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for construction.

Construction Continues On...

I-75:

In Wayne County, north and south I-75 under Woodward (M-1) has a lane closed for M-1 construction until November 2015.

In Wayne County, north and south I-75 ramps to Oakland Ave. and M-1 (Woodward) remain closed until October 2015. Detour is northbound or southbound I-75 to westbound McNichols to Oakland Ave. or M-1.

M-53: (Van Dyke)

In Macomb County, north and south M-53 (Van Dyke) between 14 1/2 Mile and 18 Mile Roads has two lanes open through September during daytime. There will only be one lane open during overnights and weekends through August 23.

I-69:

In St. Clair County, I-69 from west of M-19 to east of Taylor Rd. has one lane open in each direction through September 28. And the east I-69 exit to Taylor Rd. is closed through September 28 for road work.

I-94/I-69:

In St. Clair County, east I-94 from Range Rd. to Lapeer Rd. has the left lane closed through September 15.

In St. Clair County, west I-94 from Lapeer Rd. to Griswold has the left lane closed through September 15.

M-8 (Davison Fwy)/Oakland Ave:

In Wayne County, south Oakland Ave. over M-8 (Davison Freeway) remains closed until October for bridge work. Detour is west M-8 service drive to crossover west of M-1 (Woodward) to east M-8 service drive to south Oakland.

In Wayne County, west M-8 (Davison Fwy) ramp to Oakland Ave. and M-1 (Woodward Ave) closed until October. Detour is west M-8 to north I-75 to west McNichols to Oakland Ave or M-1.

M-1 (Woodward):

In Wayne County, M-1 between Alexandrine and Kirby streets has multiple lane closures through October for the M-1 rail. Also, M-1 between Adams and Alexandrine and Kirby and Chandler, north of Grand Blvd.

M-85: (Fort St)

In Wayne County, M-85 (Fort St) over Rouge River is closed between Oakwood and Miller through August.
