I-75 Ramp To I-375 Shut Down Due To Jackknifed Semi, Fuel Spill

DETROIT (WWJ) - A jackknifed semi-truck is causing big problems on I-75 at the I-375 ramp in Detroit.

Michigan Department of Transportation spokesperson Diane Cross said the semi-truck is spilling fuel onto the ramp. As a result, northbound I-75 is completely shut down at I-375/Gratiot Avenue.

"It's on the ramp where we had a tanker fire just a couple of months ago," Cross told WWJ's Chrystal Knight.

HAZMAT crews have been called to the scene. It doesn't appear anyone was injured.

"They will have to get that fuel cleaned up," said Cross. "But with that on the ramp, unfortunately we can't let anybody drive through it. We just have to get that HAZMAT material picked up and unfortunately, its going to probably go a couple more hours."
