Expect Heavy Rain, Strong Winds As Storms Move Across Michigan

DETROIT (WWJ) - Dark skies and heavy downpours are being reported in areas of Southeast Michigan as a line of storms is sweeping across the state.

"It's a north-south almost solid line of thunderstorms which are moving across the listening area right now," said AccuWeather Meteorologist Dave Bowers, speaking live on WWJ Wednesday afternoon.

"These extend from Brighton and Whitmore Lake right down through Ann Arbor and just continue south there, all the way down to just west of Toledo."

In additional to heavy rain, Bowers said metro Detroiters should expect strong winds.

Power outages are possible into the evening until things calm down a bit later Wednesday night. [Check the DTE Energy outage map]
