5-Year-Old Girl Injured In Drive-By Shooting While Playing Outside With Friends

LANSING (WWJ/AP) - Police say a drive-by shooting outside a home in Lansing has wounded a 5-year-old girl.

The shooting happened Wednesday night. The Lansing State Journal reports the girl was taken to a hospital with what were described as non-life-threatening injuries.

Willie Davis, who was visiting at the home next door, told WILX-TV that several young children were playing in front of the home when the shooting happened. He says two people, including at least one adult, were on the porch.

The shooting is under investigation. Police didn't immediately release information on a possible suspect or suspects.
