Global entrepreneur John Hope Bryant, who runs Bryant Ventures and is founder, chairman and CEO of Operation Hope, visited the “Michigan Matters” set and talked with Host Carol Cain about helping more Detroiters learn about financial literacy.

Bryant, who resides in Atlanta, has been helping people in distressed communities learn about improving their financial situations for years.

He appeared with Denise Ilitch, CEO of Ilitch Enterprises, and Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson.

Ilitch, whose family owns the Detroit Tigers and Red Wings, shared her thoughts about the sudden promotion this week of Al Avila to president and general manager of the baseball franchise.

The roundtable also noted the passing this week of Detroit Lions great Mel Farr and NFL Hall of Famer Charlie Sanders who died in July.

You can hear the conversation by watching “Michigan Matters” 11:30 am Sunday on CBS 62.
