Police: Woman Missing After Meeting Man From Online For Date

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police are looking for tips in the case of a 23-year-old woman who disappeared after saying she was going to meet a man she found online.

Cynthia Worthy of Detroit was last seen at her home in the 3200 block of Cortland on Friday, Aug. 14 at 3 p.m.

Worthy's sister told police Worthy said that at 5 p.m. she was supposed to meet up with the man whom she'd met on a "social media escorting website" for a date.

Worthy is described as a black female, 5 feet, 3 inches tall and around 200 lbs. with a medium complexion, red and auburn hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a dark-colored shirt with stone washed bottoms and tan sandals.

Police said Worthy is believed to be in good physical and mental condition.

A name or description of the man she was meeting is not available.
