When we last left Big Brother, it was an endurance competition for HOH and for a jury member to return. Julia, Steve and Meg had been eliminated before the show ended Thursday. Leaving Liz, Vanessa and James against the jury members John, Becky, Jackie and Shelli. It was a high stakes competition for all involved. But first a recap of last night's episode!

Johnny Mac Is Back

So it really was a waste of an HOH week for Austin, as John fought his way back into the Big Brother house, only minutes before being evicted in a unanimous vote. The fight for HOH came down to interestingly enough John and Vanessa. Who both appeared to be archrivals to the other houseguests, but before the live eviction had made amends and looked to work with each other if John were to return to the game. It was interesting to see Vanessa begging John to let her win HOH so she could see her girlfriend Mel. But John was not going to let Vanessa just win the HOH easily. Which scared many of the houseguests. Austin was the most afraid of John winning HOH because he was the one who got him evicted. The Twins, Julia and Liz were also afraid because they had formed an alliance that inevitably was destroyed when John was evicted. So when John lost his footing and Vanessa won HOH, the twins and Austin could breathe a sigh of relief. However Vanessa was going to make a fresh start when finding out she was a backdoor option for Austin last week.

Liztin Is Official

Surprised it took Big Brother producers this long to finally show this segment. Nonetheless it's official, Austin officially asked Liz to be his girlfriend. Which would put Austin's girlfriend count to two since well he apparently still has a girlfriend outside of the Big Brother house. I wonder how that girlfriend is feeling. I really hope there is a segment on Thursday with the "other girl," because I want to see her reactions to all the jabs Liz has been doling out. Plus all the emotions that woman must be feeling. Either way the second showmance of the season has been announced. My money is on Clay and Shelli going further than Liz and Austin. We'll just have to wait and see.

Meg & James Fight For One More Week

Feeling pretty safe, Meg and James didn't feel they were a target for Vanessa. Austin however has been pushing Vanessa to put up Meg and James since they are a threat to their game. Vanessa is considering putting them up, but after finally seeing she is at the bottom of the totem pole of the Austin's Angels alliance she could be swayed to put Austin up for eviction. Vanessa invited Meg and James up to the HOH room to chat about possible game moves. However neither Meg nor James wanted to give information to Vanessa as past information has a way of blowing up other people's games and Vanessa immediately putting those people on the block. So Meg and James were careful with how they worded things with Vanessa and were not budging to give her information. They were more willing to fight for each other to stay by telling Vanessa to put one of them on the block over the other. Which only gave more reason for Vanessa to put both of them on the block as that shows a strong relationship. I'm surprised she hasn't thought of that with Liz and Austin or even Liz and Julia. This poker player definitely put her chips with the latter more than James and Meg. At the nomination ceremony Vanessa's speech was clear that she wanted to get rid of James or Meg as she referenced chess. Putting a King and in this case James, in check and trying to eliminate his Queen being Meg. Surprisingly when watching Thursday's Live Eviction episode, John stated he would target Meg. So it looks like John is getting what he wants, being in an alliance with Steve and Vanessa, and targeting Meg.

My Prediction For POV

It will definitely be an uphill battle for James and Meg for the POV competition. As it seems anyone who gets selected to play will not use the POV on either of him or herself. But I predict by some miracle of luck, Grandma Meg will win the POV and save her self from eviction, leaving however her "ride or die," partner James on the block. If this does happen I predict Vanessa will put up Austin in Meg's place, which would make for an exciting Thursday Live Eviction. However we'll just have to tune in on Wednesday at 8pm on CBS Detroit 62 to see whether Meg or James can win the POV, get one of them off the chopping block and who the replacement nominee will be. Plus we're nearing the home stretch, as the finale will be in 23 days!
