Detroit Police Search For Suspect Who Tied Up, Robbed 68-Year-Old Man
DETROIT (WWJ) -- Authorities are searching for a suspect who they say tied up and robbed a 68-year-old man on Detroit's northwest side Monday morning.
Detroit Police said the man was leaving his home on Fielding St. when the suspect approached him with a gun. He was then forced back into the house and tied up in the basement while the suspect stole numerous items.
The suspect is described as a black male in his 20s with a slim body type, around 5-foot-10 and 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue hoodie and black and red shorts.
Sergeant Cassandra Lewis said the suspect was last seen driving a black 2015 Chrysler 300 that was stolen from the victim, who was not injured.
"He is at home, he is fine -- there are officers with him right now," Lewis told WWJ Newsradio 950. "Thankfully in this situation he was not injured. Again -- I say all the time -- property is property, we can always get property back, you can't get lives back."
Anyone with information is asked to contact Detroit police.
