Former Tiger Curtis Granderson Doesn't Believe In The Moon Landing

When the Detroit Tigers traded CF Curtis Granderon in 2009 to the New York Yankees, many were left confused.

Granderson was a fan favorite. Now with the New York Mets, he did an interesting interview with The New York Post.

Granderson was asked the usual vanilla questions about what it would be like to win the World Series, the Subway Series, what it's like to get to the ballpark, etc. And then an interesting question was asked.

Q: You're one of the most polished, politically correct athletes I've ever dealt with. Now say something controversial.
A: Let's see … I can probably go with … I had this conversation with people — if we landed on the moon, how come we've never been back? I think there might be some conspiracy stuff to that.

I'll admit it was a little odd that that's the answer he came up with. He did follow it up. And with these details, it's clear he's not joking.

Q: You do?
A: We haven't been back, it's been [43] years, technology's all gotten better, and I've actually looked that one up a little bit and saw something on the NASA website and it said something that that space shuttle that was made back then is no longer made any more. They're making one now, but it costs $30 billion to be able to go there.

Are you like Granderson and believe the moon landing was a giant government conspiracy? Or is it time for him to be fitted with a tin foil hat?

On the positive side, no matter what you believe, the Tigers got Phil Coke, Austin Jackson, Max Scherzer and Daniel Schlereth in their Granderson trade. And no one in the current locker room is forwarding conspiracy theories (or at least not yet ...)
