We're down to the final six and with less than three weeks away from the finale it's time to find out who the next HOH will be. But first, there wasn't really a recap of the double eviction, because it seems as though that story line was done and the real focus of the show was those left in the house. The Austwins and the trio of John, Steve and Vanessa were left. There is also the scamper squad still in tact but it's pretty clear who's at the bottom of that totem pole and John is not a part of that alliance. Here's my recap of last night's episode.

Steve Scores a Home Run

For the HOH competition, the houseguests had to correctly guess which of the first six evicted houseguests were not featured in a series of all eleven evicted houseguests from this season. The pictures would start off really quick and then slow down. But during that time the houseguests would then need to correctly figure out which of the houseguests were missing to then put the correct picture puzzle together. It was an elimination style competition with the five houseguests eligible to compete. Since Liz was the outgoing HOH she was ineligible to compete.

Liz was obviously rooting for anyone but John to win for this HOH. However one by one here "Scamper Squad," alliance started to diminish. First Vanessa, then Austin and then Julia. In the final round it was John and Steve. It was interesting to hear John in the DR that he needed not to win this week's HOH to then compete in next week. Which then gave the win to Steve, knowing he would be safe with Steve as HOH. However for those in the "Scamper Squad," alliance they all felt they had a good relationship with Steve and nothing to worry about. However that soon turned to doubt, as they knew one of them would need to be nominated to sit along side John, if Steve decided to put him up.

Who is Steve's Target?

When everyone heard Steve as, "who wants to see my HOH room," the twins were obviously not for it, but they put on a face and still went. John's DR comments about the twins excitement for Steve's HOH was hilarious. John was quietly watching the twins interact with Steve, when he knew that was all a ruse. It's true what John said; it may have worked on Austin, but not on Steve. Vanessa another member of Steve's alliance with John tried to figure out a way to target Austin for eviction. However John tried to warn Steve that keeping Austin over a twin could soon see Austin and Vanessa teaming up. This week would really draw the lines as to whom Steve was targeting and wanting to get out of the house. Either way Steve's goal was to break out the Austwins.

Steve Tries To Do The Right Thing

By finally declaring his sights on the Austwins, Vanessa tried to rationalize that Julia should not be nominated so that a weaker player of the Austwin's alliance couldn't save one on the block. Which was a valid reason but for Steve he was coming to terms with having to put people up that he was closely aligned to and wanted to do the right thing by warning one of them. The segment where Steve tries to tell Austin before the nomination ceremony was comical because of the fact Steve tries to tell him when he's asleep next to Liz. Finally after "25 minutes," Austin awakes and Steve finally has the chance to chat. Steve doesn't exactly say who his target is, but tells Austin that he "may" be going up on the block. I was surprised to hear Austin say he'd save himself over his showmance Liz in his DR because he hopes he could still win and have the girl. HA! We'll see how that plan works out. In the end Steve nominates Austin and Liz for eviction and in a surprise, Liz cries off even before the nomination ceremony ends. Seriously? I would have liked to see Liz instead of cry get angry and yell at Steve. But that's asking for a lot.

My Prediction for POV

For the POV competition a former Big Brother Houseguest from a previous season will be hosting the POV. There may or may not be a wrestling connection or at least you'll see someone who is "Pectacular." Either way I predict Julia will find some way of winning the POV saving her sister from eviction and hopefully Steve will come to his senses and then target Vanessa. But we'll just have to wait and see what happens. Tune in at 8pm on Wednesday on CBS Detroit 62 to see which former Big Brother houseguest returns to host the POV, if Austin or Liz wins the POV and if the POV will be used to save one of them. Happy Labor Day everyone!
