The Lions announced the final member of their practice squad Tuesday: wide receiver Saalim Hakim.  Hakim was most recently with the Jets, where he played in three games. He's also the brother of Az-Zahir Hakim, who played for the Lions in 2002-04 and in 2006.

Last year with the Jets, Hakim returned 13 kickoffs for 279 yards in three games; his longest return was 44 yards. He was undrafted out of Palomar Junior College (in San Diego) and Tarleton State (in Texas), but signed with the Dallas Cowboys for their training camp in 2012. He was released and bounced around from St. Louis to New Orleans to New York during the next two seasons, until catching with Detroit as of today.

According to the Dallas Morning News, Hakim has never been a starter at any level, but has somehow managed to scrape together an NFL career that still won't die. He also spent some time in the United Football League, according to the same Morning News story, which published while Hakim was in training camp in Dallas.

With the signing of Hakim, Detroit completes its 10-man practice squad. The ten players are as follows:

C Braxston Cave
CB Stanley Jean-Baptiste
DE Larry Webster
DT Kerry Hyder
RB George Winn
S Isaiah Johnson
TE Casey Pierce
WR Andrew Peacock
QB Ricky Stanzi
WR Saalim Hakim
