Georgia Man Killed In Crash On Michigan Freeway

YORK TWP. (WWJ) - Police say a 32-year-old man from Georgia was killed in a crash along US-23 in Washtenaw County.

The accident happened around 9 p.m. Wednesday in the area of US-23 and Carpenter Road in York Township.

Police say the man was driving northbound when his 2000 Chevrolet Camaro left the roadway, crashed into the center median, struck a highway sign and then rolled over.

The man, who lives in Warner Robins, GA, was declared dead at the scene. His name was not released.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash and no one else was injured.

Michigan State Police say a preliminary investigation indicates that speed was a factor in the crash.
