Suspect Arrested, 2 Still On The Loose After 5 Teens Robbed In Detroit
DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police have arrested one suspect and are looking for two more in connection with the armed robbery of five teens on the city's west side.
The incident took place around 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 30 in the 18100 block of Fenkell, near the Southfield Freeway.
The victims -- three males, ages 16, 17 and 18, and two 17-year-old females -- told police they were exiting the location when they were approached by two suspects who demanded their property.
As one of the suspects pointed a gun at the teens, they threw their belongings on the ground. The suspects then picked up the belongings and fled the location in a tan Toyota van that was driven by a third suspect.
Police say one of the suspects has been taken into custody, but two remain on the loose.
One suspect is described as a black male with a medium complexion, 30 to 40-years-old, wearing a white t-shirt and baggy blue jeans. A description of the third suspect is not available at this time.
