VIDEO: Woman Faces Backlash For Killing Raccoon Outside Daycare, Posting Graphic Video To Facebook

WARNING: The video above is graphic and may be disturbing to some.

SAGINAW (CBS Detroit) -- A Saginaw woman has become the target of much ire this week after posting a graphic video of a dying raccoon to Facebook.

Candy Cork said she killed the raccoon with a brick in the driveway of a daycare where she works because local pest control officials told her it would cost $129 to remove the animal.

Cork, 52, believed the animal had been poisoned and was a threat to the children at the daycare, she told mlive. Cork filmed the raccoon's final moments and posted the video to Facebook, where she has received threats and public backlash. Her Facebook page has since been deactivated after the post received over 6700 comments and 9000 shares.

"I put it on Facebook to show the people what society we're living in now," she told mlive. "It used to be there was somebody you could call for anything and everything. Now it's like, every man for himself. Everybody wants a dollar to do something."

Cork included an explanation of her actions with the video.

"I CALLED...... They said 129.00 TO TAKE AWAY....I SAID HE** TO THE NAWLL.....GOT BRICK..... $1.34....STOOD ON PORCH, THREW IT....FREE AND STRESS RELIEVER....NOW WATCH HIS LAST MINUTES....PLEASE FORGIVE ME!!!!"

According to WNEM, Animal Control is looking into the case and cannot comment on an active investigation.
