Sweet Overdrive! 313-Foot-Long Box Of Chocolate Created

DETROIT (AP) - A 313-foot-long box of chocolate has been created as part of an effort to raise money to help improve Detroit's riverfront.

The "World's Longest Box of Chocolate" event was held Wednesday along the Detroit River at the Renaissance Center, the home of General Motors Co. The Detroit RiverFront Conservancy, GMRENCEN and chocolatier Alexandra Clark of Bon Bon Bon teamed up on the effort.

Organizers say a couple hundred guests turned out to enjoy the chocolate. They aren't aware of an existing record for a longest chocolate box, but say they met the 313-foot symbolic goal.

Detroit's area code is 313.
