Man Who Worked At Federal Prison Accused Of Taking Bribes

MILAN (AP) - A man who worked at a federal prison in southeastern Michigan has been accused of taking bribes to help prisoners.

A federal indictment says Jake Froehly took money to smuggle contraband into the Milan prison, 50 miles southwest of Detroit. He's also accused of accepting money to try to get a prisoner transferred to a lower security facility.

The indictment says both occurred in 2013. The 36-year-old Froehly was released on bond Monday after a not-guilty plea was entered.

Messages seeking comment were left for his attorney.
