Report: Ex-Spartan Star Mateen Cleaves Under Investivation For Alleged Role In Sexual Assault

GENESEE COUNTY (CBS Detroit) -- Former Michigan State basketball star Mateen Cleaves is being investigated for his alleged role in a sexual assault in Genesee County.

The Wayne County Prosecutors office said they had been transferred a case investigating the now-television basketball analyst after the Genesee County Prosecutor recused himself from the case, according to MLive.

The investigation is ongoing.

Cleaves played for four seasons under Tom Izzo at Michigan State, which included winning the NCAA Final Four Most Outstanding Player award when the Spartans won a National Title in 2000.

Cleaves was drafted by the Detroit Pistons with the 14th overall pick in the 2000 NBA Draft and spent parts of six seasons in the NBA.
