Dan Leach's 2015 NFL Locks: Week 8 'Feeling Great'

By Dan Leach
@dtmleach

It's almost hard to believe we've already steamrolled our way to Week 8 of the NFL season. My NFL picks are heating up, helping you win your pick-em-pool, embarrass your friends, and just become a more whole football fan and human being. I'm taking a look at five games this week with the best value and rating them on a sliding lock of the week 1-10 Bagels and Lock scale. And……Away….We…..Go!

DTM Song Of The Week: "Hello" By Adele

Adele's new sizzling track of her new Album "25" shows once again that she is simply one of the great songstresses of the modern era. Listen to this song and try not to be moved, I dare you.

Cincinnati Bengals at Pittsburgh Steelers  1 p.m EST Sunday, TV: CBS (PICK-EM)

The return of Big Ben for Pittsburgh couldn't come soon enough and while the Bengals have been one of the league's best so far this year, this is a tough spot for them as the Steelers will be fired up from the start getting their leader back and know this is a must win game in the AFC North race if they want to get back into the fray. Look for this to be one of the best games of the day, but in the end for the Steelers to have just enough to end the Bengals unbeaten streak.

5.5 on DTM Bagels and Lock of the Week Meter – STEELERS (PICK-EM)

New York Jets at Oakland Raiders  4:05 p.m. EST Sunday, TV: CBS (Jets -3)

The Jets have been impressive to watch for most of this season and they really brought the fight to New England for most of their game last Sunday. The Raiders absolutely lambasted San Diego on the road last week and look to continue to grow as a young team under David "Get Out Of My Dreams Get Into My" Carr. This game will come down to the wire, but this isn't your cousins Raiiiiiiiiders -- Oakland will get another big win in jack Del Rio's first season at the helm.

6.5 on DTM Bagels and Lock of the Week Meter – Raiders (+3)

Green Bay Packers at Denver Broncos 8:30 p.m. EST Sunday TV: NBC (Pack -3)

This is going to be a ton of fun as two of the NFL's unbeaten's get it going in the Mile High City. While I still think Denver with the unblemished record has its weaknesses -- mainly because of a 68-year-old Peyton Manning who has looked his age at times this year -- the Broncos defense can keep them in any game they play. The Pack have been simply majestic so far this season and while Denver will be game on Sunday Night, G.B. just has too much on both sides of the ball.

7.1 on DTM Bagels and Lock of the Week Meter – Packers (-3 buy down to 2.5)

Detroit Lions v Kansas City Chiefs  9:30 AM EST, Sunday TV: Fox, Radio: 97.1 The Ticket  (Chiefs -3.5)

The Lions are an absolute mess and luckily for them so is Kansas City. Most NFL teams get at least a moderate bump when they fire coaches midseason. I'm not going to say new O.C Jim Bob "For Apples" Cooter is going to turn Matthew Stafford into Tom Brady in one week , but I do think the Lions will be energized and truly have nothing to lose. For one week the Lions will look like an actual football team and the irony is they had to travel across the pond to do so.

LIONS 34 CHIEFS 27

7.4 on DTM Bagels and Lock of the Week Meter – LIONS (+3.5)

Indianapolis Colts at Carolina Panthers  8:30 PM EST, Monday TV: ESPN (Panthers -7)

Indy is in mild desperation mode as they play a Panthers team that is quickly becoming one of my four best bets to get to Super Bowl 50. Indy has looked -- at times -- like a team completely lost, but somehow in the putrid AFC South they are leading the division with a 3-4 record. I would be surprised if Indy won this game on the road, but feel like Andrew Luck is due for a big game and think the Colts will rally around their embattled coach Chuck Pagano and be in this one until the end.

8 on DTM Bagels and Lock of the Week Meter – Pot Luck Dinner and the Colts (+7)
