Detroit Lions Lose DeAndre Levy For The Season

The Detroit Lions know that this season is pretty much a wash and are simply now looking to win and make the season look remotely decent. Well, their bye week isn't bringing too much good news as one defensive star is now officially gone for the season after missing most already with injury.
Some good news though, is that their biggest talent is only in a hurry to get to bigger and better places with his current team.
DeAndre Levy placed on season-ending injured reserve
DeAndre Levy's hip problem has held him to just 17 plays so far this season and that was against the Arizona Cardinals back in Week 5. Now, his season is done as the Lions have placed him on season-ending injured reserve after undergoing surgery a couple weeks ago.
Over the past two seasons, he's been one of the best outside linebackers in the league. In 2013, he finished second in the league with six interceptions and racked up a career-high 151 tackles in 2014.
Before the season started, Levy signed a four-year, $33 million extension with the Lions that is set to begin next season. The hip injury happened during practice in late August and he just hasn't been the same since. Detroit has tried keeping him on the active roster in hopes of a recovery, but it just isn't meant to be this season.
Calvin Johnson does not want to be traded, wants to win in Detroit<
The 2015 NFL trade deadline has come and gone, and no major moves were made by the Detroit Lions. Some thought that All-Pro wide receiver Calvin Johnson might have been on the trading block or may be at the end of this season, but if it's up to him, he doesn't want that to happen.
"I want to win here, you know," Johnson said. "This is where I've been. So, definitely want to create a winning culture where I'm at."
Johnson said that a trade to another team hadn't even "crossed my mind," and he barely paid attention to any of the trade talk going around over the last few days. He's happy in Detroit and feels blessed that they took him in the draft and have stuck with him for nine seasons so far. Still, there is one more thing that needs to be done and that's play better.
"I love where I'm at right now but definitely want to win."
The entire Detroit Lions roster obviously feels the same way, and the talent is there. The talent is all throughout the entire team, but the wins simply aren't coming. Everyone, coaches and players, are hoping they still come this season even if the playoffs are out of reach.
