If the Detroit Tigers have any hopes of becoming relevant in the American League Central Division in 2016, they're going to have to find a way to build a serviceable bullpen. So far this offseason, it looks like that's what new general manager Al Avila is trying to do.

Jon Heyman of CBS Sports reported that the Tigers are one of six teams going hard after sidearm-throwing reliever Darren O'Day.

O'Day, 33, spent the past four seasons with the Baltimore Orioles, posting a 1.52 ERA with a 0.934 WHIP and 82 strikeouts in 65 1/3 innings in 2015.

The Tigers have also reportedly showing interest in bringing back reliever Joakim Soria, who was traded from Detroit to Pittsburgh at the 2015 trade deadline.

The Tigers posted the third-worst bullpen ERA in the MLB in 2015 (4.64) and ranked 25th in saves (34).
