Have You Met Ludwig? Parents Naming Babies After Instagram Filters

DETROIT (CBS Detroit) - Naming a child after a parent is tradition, and naming one after a celebrity is a thing — but here's something new for 2015.

According to BabyCenter, com, Juno, Reyes, Ludwig, Amaro, Valencia and Willow — all the names of Instagram filters — have spiked in popularity.

According to a report by the parenting website, which released its annual list of popular baby names and naming trends for the year, Reyes, Hudson and Kelvin — other filters on the popular photo-sharing app — were also chosen as boy names more often in 2015.

Meantime, Lux, the name of an Instagram editing tool, jumped a whopping 75 percent.

(We can be thankful for now that Inkwell, Earlybird, Toaster and Lo-Fi haven't popped up yet).

If the aforementioned monikers are a bit too hipstery for you, you may like one of these other up-and-comers:

On the top 100 girls names list, Jocelyn, Eleanor, Juliana, Hazel, Kinsley, Isla, Jordyn, Emery and Taylor appear for the first time. On the top 100 boy names list, Mateo, Ezra and Damian are all new, and Muhammad, Lincoln, Oliver, Ian, Carson, Josiah, Jeremiah, Grayson, Leo and Chase made the greatest gains.
